Job Description
HVAC System Engineering Service consists in and/or support all activities performed by engineers in the HVAC Systems team.
Those activities comprise:
1. System design and system integration into overall Client design
2. Review and update the system documentation, as well as formulating the mechanical, electrical, nuclear safety, and control logic requirements in compliance with the engineering rules, methodologies, quality processes, and tools
3. Analysis and verification of input data, requirements, and lessons learnt from other stations
4. Sizing of components e.g. pumps, pipework, fans, tanks, performing thermal hydraulic calculation and modelling with in house or commercial tools
5. Support to procurement team in formulation of technical specification and supplier surveillance
6. Modification and configuration management
7. Managing requests for modifications to system(s) checking their applicability
8. Develop and present technical solutions suitable for all impacted disciplines that support design stability strategy
9. Solve technically challenging and multi-disciplinary open points in a timely proactive manner
10. I&C design of systems including applying engineering rules applicable for I&C design e.g. for platform allocation
11. Defining the I&C functional requirements cascading the requirements from key safety inputs to ensure the safety case is respected
12. Using the I&C tools available on Client site, define the I&C logic, write the test procedure and test the control, define the HMI in the Control Room
13. Producing / updating the I&C parts of the System Design Manual
14. Performing technical peer reviews of I&C documents produced by other engineers in the team
15. Participation in the preparation to commissioning strategy of systems
16. Attend kick off meeting and maturity reviews
17. Produce updated documentation and/or redlines as required
18. Support the commissioning teams with system inputs needed to the production of the documentation required for the commissioning sequence
19. Proactive and positive engagement with all stakeholders around the HVAC systems to ensure the delivery of a product meeting the requirements set by all disciplines (layout, civil, hazard, nuclear safety, environment, configuration management, procurement...)
Qualifications
Essential:
1. Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification
2. 3+ years' experience of process engineering
3. Relevant experience in the nuclear industry
4. Ability to effectively manage own workload in order to produce high quality documents and respect deadlines
5. Excellent interpersonal skills
6. Ability to communicate clearly and accurately, both written and orally, in English
7. Proactive and confident in communicating with others, particularly those based in remote offices including France and Germany.
8. Proactive in developing positive working relations with others within the project
9. Continuously looking for opportunities to improve quality of engineering studies and the subsequent documentation produced
