About Wakefield & District Society for Deaf People
Wakefield & District Society for Deaf People exists to promote the general welfare of Deaf, Deaf-Blind, Deafened, and Hard of Hearing People and to co-operate with other organisations having the same or similar objects and aims.
We are keen to build on this work by recruiting new members to our Board of Trustees who want to help this small local organisation achieve its potential matching the ambitions that our Chief Officer has. Therefore we are seeking to appoint a Chair to play a key role in the leadership and governance of the charity.

About the Role
We welcome applications from anyone with the relevant skills and experience to lead our Board of Trustees promoting good governance and providing effective and empowering line management to support our Chief Officer. Some experience of Deafness would be advantageous but not necessary. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who has the strategic focus, governance understanding, leadership experience and time to support and develop a committed Board and ensure that Wakefield and District Society for Deaf People delivers the best experience for its beneficiaries.
This is an unpaid role open to anyone who meets the essential criteria.
