A great opportunity has arisen for a veterinary surgeon to work sole charge at our Pontefract branch surgery. Here at Chantry Vets, we have been providing excellent Veterinary care to the pets of West Yorkshire for more than 60 years. We have expanded into one of the area’s largest Small Animal practices with 7 branches, extending the range of services in many fields of Veterinary medicine, imaging, and surgery. The role is based at our Pontefract site, which is an operating branch for routine operations. It would be three to four days per week (but part-time applicants are also welcome). Splitting duties between the Pontefract surgery and our Brindley Way hospital is also an option, for those wishing to experience hospital work and more challenging cases. A weekend rota of 1:4 is included, as either a consult only role at branch, or a hospital-based role so you can be involved with more advanced cases if desirable. The role would suit a Veterinary Surgeon who is confident at working sole charge, with a minimum of 2 years experience, and would enjoy working with a small close-knit team. The branch benefits from a regular Senior Vet, experienced RVN and dedicated support team. You would receive client and patient continuity by working at a branch surgery, creating a stronger bond between you and the clients. We can offer a high degree of support from experienced colleagues and certificate holders in many disciplines, that can aid you in managing cases within your branch. We offer some great benefits as part of the VetPartners family: Salary – from £45,000 (pro rata) 6.6 weeks paid holiday including Bank Holidays Opportunity to buy and sell holidays £1750 CPD allowance per annum (pro rata) – more if a certificate holder HealthShield - wide ranging contributions for health and wellbeing treatments - from dentistry to sports massage RCVS Membership paid A membership subscription (BSAVA etc) VDS cover Enhanced paternity, maternity, adoption, shared parental leave and surrogacy pay Discounted Veterinary fees My Benefits - various discounts including retail and gym memberships Cycle to Work scheme CPD/training support Company sick pay Colleague engagement survey Annual pay reviews Focus on employee wellbeing Career progression opportunities.
