Southampton Children's Hospital (SCH) has a exciting opportunity for a motivated technician to join our paediatric respiratory sleep team. We are looking for a technician with relevant experience to join our friendly team as a band 3 to support our overnight sleep service. This role will be 2 weeks of 2 nights and 2 weeks of 3 nights worked across a 4 week roster period, according to the needs of the service. On occasion day hours may be required to carry out mandatory training and professional development courses. The respiratory sleep service facilitates inpatient studies on most nights of the week, admitting both elective patients who are referred for a sleep study or carrying out studies on acute inpatients. We are a friendly and supportive team comprised of two sleep technicians who run our overnight studies, three respiratory and sleep technicians, five sleep physiologists, two Long Term Ventilation nurse specialists with a dual role, and 1 lead physiologist. Following a period of orientation and training you will support patients and their parents on the night of their study, set up and monitor their study overnight and troubleshoot equipment when necessary to achieve high quality signals and data.
