A nurse position has arisen at our thriving specialist adult eating disorder inpatient service in Oxford. This position is for a highly motivated and innovative nurse, with a real passion for inpatient nursing in an eating disorder unit. Our team is committed to delivering safe and innovative care. Main duties of the job
As a staff nurse at Cotswold House, you would be responsible for the following main duties:
1. Nurse in charge role on shift, ensuring the safe and effective running of the shift on an inpatient unit
2. Being the primary and secondary nurse role on care teams for patients, offering a key worker role and regular carer liaison.
3. Having the opportunity to participate in facilitating the therapeutic group programme.
4. Administering medication.
5. Supporting patients at snack and meal times each day and ensuring adherence to nutritional guidelines.
6. Supporting and delivering Naso-Gastric (NG) tube feeding (training provided).
7. Phlebotomy (training provided)
8. Supervisor role for support workers / students.
9. Liaising with professionals from community teams, other inpatient services including general hospitals.
10. Being involved in the ward Quality Improvement project.
11. Being able to engage in therapeutic activities and interventions.

23. NMC Registered Qualified Mental Health Nurse
24. Diploma/Degree in Mental Health Nursing
Desirable criteria
25. Further training in psychosocial interventions
26. Training in clinical risk assessment and management
Experience
Essential criteria
27. Experience of working in a mental health setting
28. Able to contribute to the day to day functioning & development of the multi- disciplinary team.
Desirable criteria
29. Working in an eating disorder or mental health unit
30. Competent in phlebotomy
31. Competent administering NG feeding
Knowledger and Skills
Essential criteria
32. Knowledge of and an ability to manage the psychological needs of inpatients with mental health problems.
33. Knowledge of safeguarding issues/processes and an ability to apply this.
Desirable criteria
34. An understanding of and an ability to meet the physical health needs of patients with an eating disorder.
