We are currently recruiting for a Head of HR based at our Head Quarters in Coventry – a newly created and pivotal role in our business that will devise, implement and deliver AHDB’s HR strategy whilst managing a specialist team covering HR, Recruitment and Learning & Development.
This exciting opportunity reports to the Finance & Operations Director and will ensure that people development and performance is at the heart of the organisation’s effectiveness, whilst championing leading-edge people practices. We are looking for a highly experienced, qualified and inspiring HR professional with in‐depth knowledge of HR best practices, UK employment laws, and regulations, along with strong leadership and people management skills.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, inspire and develop a high performing people team which has all the appropriate skills and capability to deliver the AHDB business plan and strategy and provide a best-in-class employee experience.
* Collaborate with AHDB Leadership and Management to understand business needs and develop HR initiatives that drive employee engagement, productivity, and organisational success.
* Lead and manage AHDB’s strategic approach to EDI and work to actively embed practices which promote equality, diversity and inclusion across AHDB’s approach to people and people process.
* Develop the HR business partnering approach and work across the employee lifecycle with the aim of maximizing employee engagement through proactive and expert management of employee relations supported by effective and proportionate people processes.
* Work with the Head of Culture and Transformation to drive a performance culture which focuses on positive outcomes for employees and levy payers.
* Driving significant step changes in AHDB’s thinking and behaviours achieving improved levels of employee engagement and wellbeing.
* Manage people related risks and legal matters to protect the organisation.
* Stay informed about UK‐specific HR best practices, emerging HR trends, and legislative changes that impact the workforce.
* Evaluate organisational structure and design to achieve business goals through workforce planning and talent management strategies.
Minimum Requirements:
* Degree educated, with a professional qualification in HR practice and significant experience in a senior management role (CIPD qualification and/or any other related HR qualification).
* In‐depth knowledge of HR best practices, UK employment law, and regulations.
* Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and implement people strategies, policies, and programs aligned with business objectives.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
* Strategic thinking and problem‐solving abilities to address complex HR challenges and drive HR initiatives.
* Proficiency in IT including HRIS systems, HR analytics, ATS systems and MS Office applications for data analysis and reporting.
