About the Role:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our client in enhancing the lives of adults with learning disabilities and neurodiversity across Edinburgh and the Lothians. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about social care who want to gain hands-on experience and develop their skills. As a Support Worker, you will empower individuals to achieve their goals and live as independently as possible, both at home and within the community.
Role and Responsibilities:
* Support individuals in setting and achieving their personal goals.
* Contribute to and review support plans, including risk assessments and personalised care.
* Participate in key working processes to ensure consistent and effective care.
* Assess and manage risks for people we support, colleagues, and yourself.
* Assist individuals in accessing education, employment, housing, and recreational activities.
* Support independent living by helping individuals manage their home environment.
* Prompt or assist with medication management as prescribed.
* Adapt to changes in support needs and implement thoughtful responses.
* Promote health and well-being through positive lifestyle choices.
* Use personalised communication tailored to individual needs.
* Ensure confidentiality and uphold the rights of the people you support.
* Communicate effectively with all relevant stakeholders.
* Meet service objectives and contractual requirements.

* Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative
* Ability to engage in continuous development, including formal learning
* Qualified to the level required by the SSSC as a support worker in a housing support service and care at home service, or a willingness to work towards and to successfully complete qualification within the SSSC specified timeframe.
Desired Skills and Attributes:
* If you’re starting a career in social care or are already working in social care but don’t have the qualifications just yet, our client will support you to gain the appropriate qualifications needed to register without condition with the SSSC.
* The client encourages staff and their own personal development. Training will be provided to help you excel in your role. They offer funded SCQF levelled qualifications, such as SVQs and HNCs as part of your development plan.
Additional Notes
* Shift work and weekend work may be a requirement of this role. Flexible working arrangements are also available. These can be discussed at your interview.
* PVG scheme membership and SSSC registration are requirements of this post.

Interview Process:
Successful shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a teams call/face to face with 21HSC staff then an in person interview at the organisations head office in central Edinburgh on Wednesday 5th March. The interview will be facilitated and arranged by 21HSC.
