We have a fantastic opportunity within our Decommissioning & Waste Services team to be involved in a variety of decommissioning and waste management projects. As a Project Engineer you will support the AtkinsRéalis Project Manager/Client Task Manager in managing allocated work from assignment to close out, covering all duties related to work delivery as requested by the Project Manager or Task Manager in order to ensure that the work is conducted in a safe, timely and effective manner to its conclusion. Successful candidates will be based on our Rutherford House (Whitehaven) office delivering decommissioning working as part of a multi-discipline team; however, the role will require the individual to attend client sites. Key Responsibilities: Manage and lead site-based multi-disciplinary project delivery on a Nuclear Decommissioning Project. Produce and manage Technical Queries in collaboration with appointed contractors and client. Contribute to monthly reports including project schedules, risk registers etc. Use effective and efficient communication tools within the project environment. Positively influence the project delivery team and seek to add value. Prepare modification proposals as required. Provide technical supervision of decommissioning/construction activities to ensure compliance with design intent. Carry out technical assessment/approval of contractors’ work instruction/method statements/risk assessments. Liaise and consult with system engineers and other stakeholders throughout project life cycle to ensure efficient and effective project delivery. Comply with all Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality policies, procedures, work instructions and risk assessments and support the continuous improvement of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality on Site. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience: Essential - Suitable relevant project/operational experience within decommissioning, including the application of project management processes. Suitable relevant technical experience including the preparation of documentation, the review and approval of technical proposals and procedures, particularly Plant Modification Proposals (PMPs). The individual needs to be able to demonstrate clear and concise communication skills. Desirable - Suitable experience in the nuclear sector. Sellafield Site geographical knowledge and experience. Experience of commissioning process/activities. Qualifications: Essential - HND or Degree in a relevant engineering discipline. SC Clearance. Desirable - IOSH Working Safely. P4 Pass Holder.
