Business Development Manager

Playfords Ltd are recruiting for a new and exciting Business Development Manager position to help us expand and grow into new markets as well as develop and maintain our existing client relationships.
The role will be to drive sustainable growth through boosting sales and forging strong professional relationships with current and prospective clients. In addition, exploring new markets and driving growth within target markets and assisting the overall business achieve its growth objectives.
The successful candidate will be someone who has extensive mechanical and electrical experience working within the mechanical and electrical contracting environment. Attention to detail, technical expertise, and the ability to present thorough information in a structured and professional way will be key to securing this opportunity.
Building working relationships with key suppliers, manufacturers and wholesalers is also a key skill to ensure the most suitable and cost-effective solutions are available to us.
Attention to detail and strong organisation skills will be essential to support various tender proposals providing technical input to create thorough and robust proposals to our clients. The ability to respond to Technical Questionnaires and to build high quality tender proposals is essential.
Working closely with Playfords Estimating Manager to report and update regularly on current opportunities, the successful candidate will be able to report specific and clear information regularly to assist with the ongoing future growth plans for the business.
The successful candidate will be working on complex opportunities which will involve mechanical & electrical installations across a wide sector of industries including NHS trusts, industrial works, factory installations, new build commercial properties and building refurbishments.
Candidates will have:
1. The necessary technical skills and knowledge to be able to understand electrical and mechanical installation work.
2. Proven Track Record
3. Excellent communication and presentation skills
4. Experience of tender proposal process and requirements
5. Excellent IT Skills, and knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
6. Experience using a CRM
7. Excellent time management and organisation skills
8. Ability to work under own initiative and with an exceptional attention to detail
9. Ability to work within a team environment
10. Ability to work to deadlines and on multiple opportunities at the same time
11. Willingness to travel to complete surveys, attend meetings to allow the collation of detailed outputs for review to assist with the estimating and tender proposal submissions
12. Full UK Driving Licence
13. Right to Work in the UK
