Job overview
An exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Senior Practitioner Nurse to join the Haringey Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team has arisen. This is a permanent, full-time position that will require working on rotation including night shifts; however, we are very flexible with individual shift requests. The HCRHTT is a 7 day per week/24 hours a day service which provides urgent care for people experiencing mental health crisis as an alternative to hospital admission. The CRHTT is crucial in delivering urgent crisis resolution assessments and treatment for service users by assessing their needs and caring for them in the least restrictive environment.
We are looking for a motivated, positive, and committed individual to join our well-established, supportive, and dynamic team with excellent clinical and risk assessment skills which will allow further professional development.

Main duties of the job
We require an experienced Band 6 RMN (or an experienced Band 5 RMN who is looking for a promotion) and can bring their own professional expertise to our fast-paced team. The right candidate should be confident in managing risk in the least restrictive way with support from the team. By its nature, crisis work requires professionals who have a broad range of skills including being skilled mental health assessors with an ability to signpost service users towards the most effective treatment pathways.
Working for a Crisis Home Treatment team in Haringey means no two days are the same. The service we provide is critical to those in a mental health crisis and helps enable specialist support from the onset. We are an urgent care service and aim to respond at the soonest opportunity to ensure seamless care and better outcomes for patients.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
As a mental health practitioner, you will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. This includes assessing those with high risk of self-harm and suicide and have serious mental health problems. You will also be expected to provide clinical risk and mental state triage and assessment as part of rotation phase within Crisis Hub.
As part of your role, you will be expected to offer support and guidance to the junior staff around you. Supervision will be offered regularly, alongside regular team meetings, and opportunities to engage with clinical supervision. This ensures that staff feel valued, supported, and have access to the correct support.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Registered Mental Health Nurse (with NMC registration) and post qualification experience.
Desirable criteria
* MSc in relevant field or other advanced relevant training i.e. CBT/Mentalisation Based Therapy etc.
Skills and Abilities
Essential criteria
* Demonstrable well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
* Able to work autonomously and to deputise for senior staff in a variety of roles when required to do so.
* Able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to take a leadership role.
Desirable criteria
* Able to confidently assess mental health needs and evaluate care.
Experience and Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Demonstrate a sound knowledge of the causations of mental illness or addictions together with evidence-based best practice, inclusive of psychological, sociological, and medical factors.
* Demonstrable understanding of a range of assessment tools and treatment modalities.
* Demonstrate a clear understanding of the Mental Health legislation inclusive of the Mental Capacity Act (2005), Mental Health Act (2007) and Care Act (2014).
Personal Qualities

* Able to remain calm in stressful situations.
* High regard for compassion and empathy.

* Car driver with current, valid driving licence and own vehicle.
