Job Description
A Designated Project Engineer - Track Design is required to work with a key client in Toronto.
This is a permanent role and will require relocation to Toronto.
Key Contributions:
* Liaise with designers, consultants, and suppliers to review and comment on design deliverables.
* Lead track life cycle assurance for rail corridors within the project portfolio, including conceptual design development and reviews.
* Evaluate evidence from Design, Construction, and Testing and Commissioning teams for verification and validation purposes.
* Collaborate across matrix organizations to ensure functional coordination.
* Maintain safety, EHS, and compliance requirements throughout the project scope.
* Review electrification strategy definition and lead signal and communication activities.
* Coordinate stakeholders and define signal and communication objectives.
* Ensure project goals are aligned with key stakeholders.
* Monitor and mobilize engineers to review design work packages.
* Foster a system engineering approach to project delivery.
* Provide guidance on deviations from standards related to electrification.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, electronics, or transportation management) or related field.
* 5+ years of experience in transit and railway design and construction management in Track systems.
* Proven track record in managing complex transit projects.
Technical Competencies:
* Advanced understanding of Track Standards and AREMA.
* Familiarity with different types of track forms and interfaces.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
* Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year.
Location: Toronto.
