Leisure Team Member
Salary: £10.50 per hour
Full Time: Up to 40 hours
Location: Belper Leisure Centre, John O'Gaunts Way, Belper DE56 0DA
Trilogy Active is recruiting for an Apprentice Leisure Team Member to work as part of their enthusiastic, hardworking, and friendly team.
The key role of a Leisure Team Member is to support, enhance, and deliver the day-to-day operations and services of a leisure/fitness facility.
Working as part of a team, the leisure team member is responsible for undertaking a range of operational duties such as:
1. Assisting with the opening and closing of the facility
2. Undertaking routine maintenance of equipment
3. Maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the environment
4. Ensuring programmed activities and services are available for customers
5. Acting as a Lifeguard, Swimming Teacher, Gym Instructor, and Group Activity Leader
In a typical working day, they may perform all of these roles in one shift, including:
1. Opening or closing the facility
2. Welcoming customers
3. Delivering a gym induction
4. Running a group exercise session
5. Teaching a swimming lesson
6. Cleaning the facility
7. Walking the gym floor
8. Preparing the sports hall for activities (e.g., badminton) and delivering the session
Apprenticeship Duration: 17 months learning - 20 months including the end point assessment.
Qualifications:
* Award in Lifeguarding
* Certificate in Teaching Swimming
* Certificate in Gym Instructing
* Certificate in First Aid
L2 Qualification also includes the development of knowledge, skills, and behaviours in a range of areas including:
* Performing the duties of a lifeguard
* Performing all the duties of a gym instructor
* Performing all the duties of a swimming teacher
* Planning activity sessions
* Key legal and regulatory requirements
* Problem solving
* Teamwork
