About the role
The role will act as the finance interface between the IAGC business, partners, commercial SMEs, and third-party suppliers, driving IT development and process change to enable the launch of a minimum viable product (MVP) in late summer 2025.
What you'll do
Business partner to the strategic alliances team in IAG Cargo, presenting key management information and supporting creation and delivery of new partnerships. Drive continuous improvement in processes and financial controls ensuring revenue and costs are accurately reported and tightly regulated.
1. Strategic Partnership - Act as the primary finance business partner to the Strategic Alliances team in IAG Cargo, ensuring alignment between financial goals and strategic objectives. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to enhance business outcomes.
2. Reporting and Analysis - Present complex financial data and management information in a clear and actionable manner, enabling stakeholders to make informed decisions that drive improvements in financial performance.
3. Profit Sharing Model Development - Lead the design and implementation of a range of new and existing partnerships, focusing on profit-sharing model, defining performance metrics and establishing financial controls.
4. Scenario Modelling - Develop and analyse different financial scenarios to assess potential outcomes of business decisions, using these models to understand risk and opportunities and presenting these to key stakeholders.
5. Financial Transactions Management - Oversee and manage transfer payments and receipts between entities, ensuring timely and accurate financial transactions that adhere to compliance standards.
6. Business Planning and Forecasting - Support the IAG Cargo Alliances team in preparing and tracking comprehensive Business Plans and Financial Plans, including budgeting, planning, and forecasting. Utilize advanced modelling techniques to enhance accuracy and reliability of financial projections.
7. Cost Reduction and Revenue Improvement - Identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction and revenue enhancement through thorough analysis of financial performance. Present actionable insights to senior management to influence strategic decision-making.
8. Profitability Reporting System - Develop and maintain a robust reporting and control system to measure cargo profitability across the network. Analyse trends and generate insights that inform strategic actions and operational improvements.
9. Project Accounting Oversight - Manage project accounting activities by providing insights and evaluations of ongoing projects. Ensure projects are aligned with financial goals and are executed within budgetary constraints.
10. Financial Controls and Compliance - Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and controls, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Implement best practices to enhance the integrity of financial reporting.
11. Stakeholder Engagement- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management and operational teams, to foster collaboration and ensure financial considerations are integrated into strategic initiatives.
12. Performance Monitoring - Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor ongoing performance against financial targets, providing regular updates and variance analysis to support proactive decision-making.
13. Continuous Improvement Initiatives - Champion continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function, identifying areas for efficiency gains and implementing innovative solutions to enhance financial operations.
14. Training and Development - Mentor and train team members and stakeholders on financial principles and tools, enhancing their financial acumen and supporting a culture of financial accountability within the organization.

Skills and Experience:
Qualified Account equivalent certification in CIMA or ACCA
* Willing to work in different locations and business functions, duty travel and/or shift work may be required depending on placement.
* Must have the right to live and work full-time in the UK indefinitely.
* Must be able to pass a Criminal Record Check.
