Business Development Manager – Business Rates
The Team & Focus of the Role
As part of our expansion plans for our Business Rates team, we have a newly created role as a Business Development Manager, working out of our recently relocated office in the centre of London.
In this role you will be pivotal in securing new business and instructions for the team, by identifying new business opportunities, generating leads, supporting Surveyors with wider business development, cold-calling and staying up to date with relevant market insight.
You will be joining an ambitious but friendly & dedicated team who are committed to the best in service for their clients and wider colleagues throughout the business. Prior Business Development experience, within a Business Rates environment would certainly be of assistance for this role, but a strong work ethic, a passion for client care and drive to assist in the overall strategy for the department are also qualities that we’re searching for.
This is a permanent full-time position on a 37.5-hour contract (Monday – Friday, 9am – 5.30pm) however we are open to discussing flexible working and this role is part of our hybrid working policy. This role will be based in our London office.
In return, beyond your base salary you will be included in:

Duties will include:
* Identifying opportunities using all data available, focusing on both small and large instructions
* Communicating the range of services offered to develop relationships and awareness of the services
* Arranging calls and meetings with prospective clients
* Building positive & proactive relationships with existing and new clients
* Telephone-based sales with a consultative approach
* Supporting Surveyors with any leads that are identified by them
* Staying up-to-date with any relevant market insight
The successful candidate will have...
* Prior experience within business rates (desirable, not required)
* An interest in the sector & willingness to learn
* Experience working within the property sector
* Excellent client relationship skills
* Clear and professional communication skills - both written and verbal
* Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills
* A full driving licence
