Sue Ross Recruitment are seeking an experienced and driven Head of Property to lead in an established Property Department and play a key role in the continued development and success of an established law firm in Sheffield. As Head of Property, you will provide strategic leadership and day-to-day supervision to a team of fee earners and support staff, managing both your own caseload and the overall productivity and compliance of the department.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and develop the Property Department, ensuring continued growth and progression
* Supervise and support fee earners, junior team members, and legal assistants
* Manage individual caseload of complex and high-value property matters
* Allocate work efficiently across the team and oversee the quality of output
* Monitor team performance and manage fee income on a monthly basis
* Conduct regular Matter List and file reviews to ensure compliance and progress
* Support applications and renewals for Panel Membership and CQS Accreditation
* Fulfil the duties of the SRO (Senior Responsible Officer), including compliance training and audits
* Assist with annual Lexcel audits and maintain high regulatory standards
* Address and manage client complaints related to property matters
* Collaborate with other departments, especially on matters involving trusts, estates, and cross-departmental property issues
* Participate in senior management and strategy meetings across the firm
The ideal candidate will be a licensed conveyancer with significant experience which must include managing and leading a team. You must possess strong leadership skills and be proficient in compliance, regulatory frameworks and quality assurance procedures.
