1:1 LAC (Looked After Child) Tutor
Location: Leeds
Salary Scale: £25 - £30 per hour
Start: ASAP
Status: Full Time/Part time
GSL Education invites applications for the position of a 1:1 LAC (Looked After Child) Tutor at a school in A 1:1 LAC (Looked After Child) Tutor in schools play a critical role in providing educational support to children.
Job Summary:
This role involves several key responsibilities and requires a specific set of skills and qualifications to effectively support the unique needs of looked after children.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored 1:1 tutoring sessions for Looked After Children, ensuring their unique educational needs are met.
* Need to provide 1:1 Maths, English, Science and SEMH Support with the Looked After Children (LAC) or Children that are Looked After (CLA)
* Create and deliver engaging, personalised lesson plans that align with each child's individual education plan (IEP).
* Monitor and report on student progress, adapting teaching strategies as necessary.
* Foster a supportive and nurturing learning environment to help students achieve their full potential.
The successful candidate will:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent tutoring/teaching experience.
* Proven experience working with children, particularly those in care or with special educational needs (SEN).
* Strong understanding of the challenges faced by Looked After Children and the ability to address these effectively.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support and inspire children in care.
