As an Automation Engineer you will be a key member of the site's centralised automation team, providing technical expertise to support a huge diversity of manufacturing, automation and control systems across the Ware Campus.,
* Specification, Procurement, Installation, Acceptance Testing (e.g. FAT/SAT) and Qualification of automation systems in a licensed GMP commercial facility
* Identifying and implementing control system based continuous improvement opportunities and delivering strategies to deliver business benefits.
* Ensuring compliance with engineering and EHS standards relevant to the service provided.
* Implementation of Automation projects in line with Operational Technology Cyber Security policy and standards.
* Work with site Quality and Validation personnel to ensure automation and control system GMP compliance.
* Engaging with external specialist companies to deliver projects or provide service.
* Where required, provide operational support for the existing automation systems
* Ownership of projects to deliver against the automation and site strategy.

This role is suited to a motivated person with good influencing, communication, and teamworking skills. A successful candidate will have a passion for understanding and mastering a variety of complex automation systems and must have a keen interest in the development and deployment of emerging technologies into beneficial use.,
* Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Robotics, Electronics and Communications or similar disciplines / backgrounds., Technical and operational knowledge of Automation systems (PLC, HMI, Servo, Vision, Field Instrumentation) for off the shelf and bespoke process and production equipment
* Knowledge of change management in a regulated environment
* Knowledge of Electrical Design (control panel and field wiring) including understanding and interpreting electrical wiring diagrams and P&ID nomenclature
* Appreciation of Operational Technology Cyber Security
At GSK's manufacturing site in Ware we have a heritage in making innovative medicines for diseases like asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), HIV and cancer. An exciting place to work, Ware is the new product introduction site (NPI) for respiratory and oral solid dose medicines.

This role would predominantly be site-based (although there are flexible working policies in place). We provide external training where required and support personal development and progression alongside opportunities for further education and professional registration., Medicines at Ware are presented as either Respiratory devices or in Oral Solid Dose form, and the site has circa 1,500 highly-motivated and capable people working at it.
