We are PKAVS, an incorporated charity serving the community of Perth & Kinross, offering five community-led services supported by a team of 80 colleagues and up to 50 volunteers.

Carers PKAVS is our largest service, providing support and respite care to unpaid carers aged 5+ across Perth & Kinross at our Carers Centre in Lewis Place Perth.
The Young Adult Carers Service offers information, advice, and support to young people and works in partnership with other agencies to deliver a range of activities that enable young people with caring responsibilities to be children first.
Role
We are looking for a highly motivated person to work within a small, supportive, and dynamic team striving to recognize and enhance the potential of young people. Experience of working with and engaging directly with young people and their families is essential.
You will be involved in developing and delivering a range of support mechanisms for Young Adult Carers aged 18-25 years, assisting with the planning, preparation, and evaluation of support packages.
Key Objectives
* Provide appropriate support to Young Adult Carers; help them identify their needs and the impact caring has.
* Raise awareness of the Young Adult Carers Project within statutory and voluntary service providers.
* Champion the rights and well-being of Young Adult Carers through awareness sessions and presentations.
* Support the transition of Young Adult Carers into Adult Carer support services.
* Develop respite opportunities for Young Adult Carers.
* Provide 1:1 support sessions with Young and Young Adult Carers.
* Complete funding applications to assist with service delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Undertake assessments to identify the impact of the caring role on young adult carers.
2. Ensure internal support is provided and refer to external services as necessary.
3. Provide 1:1 support for emotional, practical, or crisis needs.
4. Plan and deliver respite opportunities, including groups and activities.
5. Manage a caseload including new referrals and annual reviews.
6. Ensure a smooth transition between services.
7. Allow young adult carers to participate in the planning and development of the service.
8. Ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
9. Promote the service via social media.
10. Oversee the young adult carer budget and meet funding report deadlines.
11. Attend and participate in regular team meetings.
12. Seek personal support and opportunities for self-development.
13. Undertake any other duties required to achieve the aims of the Young Adult Carers Service.
14. Record contacts on the client management database.
