SEN Teacher – Full-Time – Liverpool A specialist SEN school in Liverpool is seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis. The school provides education and support for pupils aged 3 to 19 years with severe, complex, profound, and multiple learning difficulties, ASC, and sensory impairments. The Role The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, personalised learning experiences that meet the unique needs of each pupil. They will work closely with support staff, therapists, and families to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that support the diverse learning needs of pupils. Create and maintain a structured, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment. Develop and implement individual learning plans (ILPs) and work towards EHCP targets to ensure each pupil makes progress. Use a range of communication strategies, such as PECS, Makaton, and sensory-based learning approaches. Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals to provide a holistic approach to education. Build strong relationships with parents and carers, ensuring they are actively involved in their child’s education. Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress, adapting teaching methods as necessary to meet their evolving needs. Promote a positive, safe, and nurturing environment where all pupils feel supported and valued. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Experience working with children with SEN, particularly those with severe and complex needs, ASC, and sensory impairments. Strong knowledge of adaptive teaching strategies and alternative communication methods. Excellent behavior management skills and a patient, nurturing approach. The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. A passion for helping children develop independence, confidence, and essential life skills.
