2023-24 has been a great year for Hewett Academy with record-breaking GCSE results and an Ofsted grading of “Good with Outstanding features.” With this success has come an increase in pupil numbers that means we now have an exciting opportunity for an inspiring Teacher (PE) to join our committed and hardworking team at Hewett Academy. Applications from Early Careers Teachers are welcomed and encouraged.
You will be a teacher who can deliver KS3 & KS4 PE. It would be an advantage if you have an interest in teaching Rugby. It is also preferred that the successful candidate will have a second subject that is Maths, Science, English, History, Religious Studies, GCSE Citizenship or Computer Science.
The main responsibility of this role will be:
* To ensure pupils receive an excellent education through the delivery of high-quality teaching.
* To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students, contributing to raising standards of student attainment.
* To offer active support for the School’s Policy and Procedures.
The ideal candidate will have:
* An appropriate degree and other qualifications required for the award of QTS.
* Qualified Teacher Status (trainees should be on track to achieve QTS before taking up the post).
* Experience of teaching the subject in a secondary school across the 11-16 age range.
* Experience of the wider role of a teacher in the personal development of pupils, including the main responsibilities of a form tutor.
* Knowledge of the statutory requirements concerning Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, SEND, and Child Protection.
* Experience of delivering KS3 & KS4 PE. It would be an advantage if you have an interest in teaching Rugby.
