Interconnectors play a key part in the UKenergy industry, connecting us to our neighbouring countries and providing sustainable, flexible energy transmission. NGV currently owns and operates a portfolio of interconnectors and is in the process of constructing and developing a number of further interconnectors.By 2024, National Grid Ventures will operate enough interconnector capacity to power around 8 million UK homes. This placement is an opportunity to work across our Commercial, Customer and Regulation team which plays an essential role in maintaining the reliability of our energy assets, with a strong focus on safety and efficiency.Your responsibilities will cover a range of functions, including administration of our systems, reporting, dashboard creation, process improvement, project administration and other areas. This will give you great exposure to different disciplines and fields, including:Policy & Regulation.Commercial Operations, including IT Systems and stakeholder management.Optimisation, including strategy and market analysis.Portfolio Management including reporting, risk and project management.This placement is ideal for someone looking to gain practical experience, develop their skills, and establish a foundation for a career in operations within the energy sector. By the end of your placement, youhave developed your understanding of our business and the energy sector for your future career.What you'll need to applyYou'll need to be in your penultimate year at University, on track to achieve a minimum 2:2 in any degree discipline.
