Adult Safeguarding Administrator
NHS AfC: Band 3
An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen to join the safeguarding adults team at Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust working at the Southport Hospital site.
The post holder will provide a comprehensive, professional and effective administrative service to the team, including the processing of Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) applications. The role will also include taking minutes at meetings and data collection. Flexibility and confidentiality are key requirements of this role and a calm and friendly manner when dealing with enquiries and external organisations.

Main duties of the job
* Provide comprehensive confidential administrative service to the Assistant Director of Nursing Safeguarding and the Safeguarding Adults Team, including the processing of Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) authorisations.
* The role will include necessitating contacts with external bodies, clinical, nursing, management, executive and clerical staff.
* Some cross cover may be required for the safeguarding adults and safeguarding children administrative support when colleagues are absent.

Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent and/or equivalent experience
* RSA II typing or equivalent
* ECDL
Knowledge & Experience
* Knowledge relating to procedures and practices in relation to safeguarding
* Experience of working in office environment
* Previous NHS experience

* Ability to work as a member of a team
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Ability to work on own initiative and rearrange priorities as required.
* Be able to provide and receive complex and sensitive information and be able to communicate with all stakeholders in safeguarding service
* Up to date knowledge of Data Protection
