Motor Vehicle Workshop Facilitator and Technician

£24,532 per annum pro-rota to £12,266 per annum

Who are we looking for?
Burton and South Derbyshire College is seeking to appoint a qualified, committed and enthusiastic individual to join our Motor Vehicle team at our Engineering academy.
The successful candidate will support practical workshop sessions and be prepared to lead activities with small groups completing motor vehicle specific tasks. They will also be responsible for maintaining the workshop equipment and liaising with the Curriculum Team Leader when repairs are required. Other responsibilities include assisting and leading on health & safety aspects such as risk assessment and equipment inventory, maintaining correct levels of consumable items, preparing vehicles ready for demonstration, general housekeeping, and supporting external visits and open days when required.
The suggested working hours are Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 12:15; however, this can be discussed at interview.
Minimum Requirements:
Applicants will ideally hold a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Principles or have experience suitable for these environments; health and safety experience is beneficial. The College welcomes applications from enthusiastic motor vehicle vocational specialists willing to work with young people.
Applicants should be qualified to, or willing to work towards, Level 2 English and Maths. Evidence of qualifications is required.
