Therapy Team Leader - Community Neuro Team

The post holder will work as a leader within the Community Neuro team in North Lincs. They will lead a small team of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy staff in the provision of rehabilitation for neurological patients known to the rehabilitation medicine team and for stroke patients on the pathway.
This post is an exciting opportunity to provide a high standard of rehabilitation, undertaking all aspects of clinical duties both as an autonomous practitioner and as part of a specialist team. In this role, there is an opportunity to support individuals to reach their maximum potential and to maintain quality of life in the community as part of a wider MDT.
The post holder will have responsibility for reporting to Senior Managers and commissioners on aspects of service delivery, including capacity and demand. They will also be responsible for liaising with other colleagues at a Band 7 level to triangulate information and provide appropriate input into national audits including the SSNAP.
This post could be suitable for an experienced occupational therapist or experienced physiotherapist. They will have experience of neurological rehabilitation and be able to manage an integrated team of occupational therapists and physiotherapists.
There will be an expectation to participate in the respiratory on-call rota if the successful candidate is a physiotherapist by discipline.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be the Team lead for Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and therapy support staff working in the Community Neuro team NL.
The post would also include the advanced management of patients with diverse presentations and a wide variety of complex conditions, using highly specialist clinical reasoning skills and evidence-based practice to develop and deliver treatment programmes.
The post holder will be responsible for managing their own caseload and coordinating the supervision, education, and assessment of students, assistants, and junior therapists in their area. They will provide specialist advice to other health care professionals in this specific clinical area.
To participate in the planning, development, maintenance, and evaluation of the community therapy service, contributing to the strategic planning and informing the Manager of any developments or needs.
Practice autonomously, demonstrating expert problem-solving and clinical decision-making skills while maintaining professional accountability and responsibility.
Be a role model for the wider team by promoting a positive research culture.
Identify, promote, and embed evidence and impact measures using findings to enhance future activity.
Identify and support the achievement of learning needs of individuals/team in response to service need and personal development planning.

Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
* Evidence of Masters level study relating to the relevant clinical area or able to demonstrate equivalent level of experience e.g. extensive CPD in relevant specialist area.
* Relevant professional Qualification.
* HCPC registration.
* Full masters in relevant area.
* Leadership and management training/qualification.
* Member of specialist interest group or clinical network.
Occupational Experience and Abilities
* Significant post-graduate experience as a Band 6 in relevant clinical field/settings.
* Highly developed specialist assessment and management skills.
* Experience of line managing staff, supporting staff development, and deputizing for line manager.
* Experience of delivering education to a range of audiences.
* Evidence of ability to identify need for change associated with best practice.
* NHS experience.
* Knowledge and skills around splinting and orthoses.
* In-depth knowledge of specialist equipment and housing adaptations.
