An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Housing Support Team. We are looking for a highly motivated, caring individual who is interested in being a part of our team.
Main Duties
The main duties of the post will include:
1. Establishing supportive relationships with service users
2. Assessment focused on Better Futures Agenda
3. Implementing and reviewing support plans for individuals
4. Offering advice and help with all aspects of establishing, managing, and maintaining a tenancy
5. Helping to develop household and life skills
6. Maximising income and offering advice on managing income
7. Keeping arrears and bad debts to a minimum
8. Liaising and developing links as appropriate to support a service user to maintain their home
9. Maintaining accurate records as required on Better Futures and other internal systems
10. Working closely with other team members at all times, especially in all aspects of work where there is a shared responsibility
Qualifications
It is essential that you have or are willing to train towards achieving an SVQ Level 3 in Social Care or equivalent qualification. You should have an awareness of current developments in the provision of quality housing support to service users and experience of working in a local authority, registered social landlord, or housing support provider.
You must have a working knowledge of housing related welfare rights and benefit issues, and of the Housing Scotland Act 2001 and 2010. Effective IT, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are required, with the ability to carry out needs assessments and plan care while organising your own workload.
Experience of working with service users in their own homes is desirable.
