Job Title: Senior Cyber Security Engineer Location: Central Cardiff (Hybrid Working with 2 days required in the Cardiff office) Salary: £69,000 per annum Reporting to: Cyber Security Architect Role Summary We are looking for a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to lead a Cyber Security team of two. You will ensure that all applications, infrastructure, and data meet top cyber security standards while operating in a multi-cloud environment, particularly with a focus on AWS. The Senior Cyber Security Engineer will use modern tooling and practices. This company have aspirations of being an AWS Cloud Centre of Excellence, providing best-in-class guidance on best practices, governance policies, efficiency and enhancing security and compliance to drive innovation. You will be helping to manage a 24/7 SOC and working on a vast array of prevention strategies for phishing, malware and data loss, supply chain attacks and identity theft. This role is more than just patching () we need the Senior Cyber Security Engineer to lead on projects and be involved in leading red teaming, pen testing, config and policy development. In regards to leadership and management, we require the Senior Cyber Security Engineer to lead and supervise as well as be hands-on with the tools. You will be involved in121s, allocation of work, and management of strategy working in a highly specialist area. We need someone who can influence Key Responsibilities Implement and manage cyber security tools for user, infrastructure, and application activities. Oversee vulnerability management processes. Work with security providers to ensure high standards and reporting. Maintain the Security Controls Catalogue for consistent risk and control reporting. Lead Blue and Red team exercises to evaluate technical controls. Experience Significant experience in Cyber or Information Security. Proficiency with penetration testing tools, anti-virus and anti-malware tools and other cyber security tools (i.e. Defender and Sentinel). Leadership experience. Knowledge of IT security best practices and vulnerability remediation. Familiarity with AWS or similar cloud platforms.
