About the Role:
As a Warehouse Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of warehouse operatives, ensuring that all tasks are carried out efficiently and in line with customer service and productivity targets. You will play a key role in maintaining high operational standards, training staff, and ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assign and oversee daily tasks for the warehouse team, ensuring productivity and quality targets are met.
* Manage inventory processes, including picking, checking, loading, and replenishment, to meet customer service standards.
* Utilise in-house systems to track stock, pick locations, load vehicles, and ship orders.
* Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and lead the team in best working practices.
* Maintain warehouse equipment and ensure all operations adhere to company policies and statutory safety requirements.
* Train and support both permanent and temporary staff in warehouse operations, manual handling, and health & safety.
* Uphold high standards of housekeeping, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and Fire Regulations.
* Handle warehouse-related administration accurately and in a timely manner.
* Conduct regular equipment inspections, report damage, and take appropriate action.
* Assist with employee relations, including disciplinary investigations, note-taking in meetings, and conducting 1-2-1 performance reviews.
* Provide cover for Stock Inventory Controllers as and when required.
You may need to take a numeracy and literacy assessment to ensure that you meet the expected delivery standard for Depots.
What We’re Looking For:
* Previous experience in a leadership role within a FMCG/Warehouse environment.
* Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to motivate and lead a team effectively.
* Experience using warehouse management systems and MS office tools.
* Knowledge of health & safety regulations and best practices.
* Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
