Trustee (voluntary role) with Outside the Box CIO
Outside the Box CIO
Outside the Box CIO is a registered charitable incorporated organisation based in Halifax. We are seeking new trustees to join our growing charity.
We use creativity to enhance wellbeing. Our main project at present is Orange Box Choir, but we have potential to grow and develop new activities.
Our charity officially registered in January 2022, and in 2023 were winners of Best New Charity at the Calderdale Community Spirit Awards. We recently received a two-year grant from the National Lottery Community Fund, giving us financial stability until April 2026.
We are looking for people who are passionate about enabling young people and young adults of diverse abilities and needs to access creativity, have fun and live their best lives.
This is a voluntary role, but reasonable out of pocket expenses are reimbursed.
Some Trustee roles may be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
The Trustees aim to meet four times per year. We meet online, in-person (in Halifax) or hybrid. We celebrate our achievements with an Annual General Meeting each March, to which all our participants and family members are invited.
We seek new Trustees whose skills and experience will complement the current team, providing strong and clear leadership, helping us to progress further towards becoming a more diverse and inclusive organisation.
Here are some of the qualities/experience we seek:
1. Understanding governance and legal responsibility
2. Keeping policies and procedures up to date and in line with wider good practice
3. Project Management
4. Working with young people and young adults, particularly those with additional needs
5. Fundraising, particularly grant funding

9. Volunteer management
10. Good administration and organisational skills

If you feel you can bring one or more of the above, we would love to hear from you, and we welcome applications from all communities.
