We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Fund Accountant In this role, you will: Why join us? Performance & Accounting teams are responsible for reporting accurate, consistent and timely analysis of all funds under management, including performance measurement, asset allocation, portfolio analysis and risk measures (post NAV processes). The team requires to provide the provision of monthly reports and data extracts to Insurance clients. The core deliverables include ledger feeds, valuation extracts and supplementary analysis to enable the client to complete statutory accounts and regulatory disclosures. Also required to oversee the entire monthly reporting process. The Opportunity: Using performance/ attribution software, create, quality control and distribute monthly results for all clients to agreed levels, formats and deadlines. Update monthly fund benchmarks and keeping abreast of market and index developments. Carry out post month end control checks for Life & Insurance clients within agreed service levels and to a high standard of accuracy. Oversee the entire monthly reporting process. Provide ledger feeds, valuation extracts and supplementary analysis to enable the client to complete statutory and regulatory disclosures. Review all investment accounting reports required by the client to support the general ledger feed. Advise Life Fund Accounting Manager of any issues that require to be raised with the client. What you’ll do: Supporting the audit / review process. Ensure that the appropriate checklists and sign-offs are fully completed within agreed timescales. Identifying and Implementing opportunities for process efficiencies. Ability to understand client and jurisdiction requirements and conform to them for all deliverables. Support the Manager in the process and to work in perfect harmony to ensure service level excellence. Ability to work closely with peers and colleagues. Adept at teamwork. Ensure positive relationships are built and maintained with all. Adhere to MSS clients’ service level agreements, internally and upwardly communicating delays and issues. Participate in production of regular internal reports for management information, including the preparation of KPI’s. Updating self & team on developments/updates on relevant GAAP & IFRS. Requirements What you will need to succeed in the role: Accounting Concepts with clear understanding of financial statements. Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree relevant to the accounting/finance industry. Sound knowledge of various types of assets, Funds Administration and accounting services and understanding of valuations cycle, financial instruments, corporate actions and accounting concepts. Knowledge about IFRS, US GAAP & other applicable GAAPs (preferable). Knowledge of types of performance reporting and calculations employed in the industry MS Excel and MS Word skills. An understanding of investment instruments and how they are processed for performance calculation purposes is required. Time Management and ability to multi task work and prioritize to meet defined deadlines. Liaison with internal parties and external data suppliers and agencies is an essential part of the role What additional skills will be good to have? IOC / CISI certification would be an added advantage. Understanding of Cash reconciliation, Income and Expense would be an added advantage. Knowledge of Bloomberg, Reuters and relevant data feeds would be added advantage. Understanding of different fund structures and their consequent impact on preparation of financial statements.
