As the Digital Construction Manager you will be responsible for the delivery of the N & P Digital Construction strategy across our Major Projects portfolio. You will be the focal point of contact for project digital delivery and the coordination of different digital streams, such as BIM, 4D, GIS, IM to drive forward a “design for construction” approach utilising data and construction technology. You will need an overarching understanding of the different interfaces during project delivery across design and construction and play a pivotal role in enabling their coordination, integration and engagement with the client. You will work closely with the Head of Digital Construction, market account managers, project, and digital teams across our Nuclear and Power EMEA business to implement and evolve the DC strategy on projects aligning with our company objectives and getting ahead of market trends.
Responsibilities:
1. Deliver the digital construction strategy on nuclear major projects and strategic clients (EDF, Rolls Royce, CANDU, etc.) across Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA) & Canada.
2. Collaborate with project teams and engineering disciplines to integrate digital construction solutions into planning, design, construction, handover, commissioning and decommissioning phases, progressively building the lifecycle Digital Twin of the project.
3. Lead the coordination and integration of project specific digital streams including: BIM, IM, 4D, 5D, GIS, Geospatial, IoT, Asset data, to empower right first time project delivery.
4. Lead the development and deployment of digital construction data and Information & Communication Technologies (ICTs) to drive forward project certainty, productivity, quality & safety.
5. Provide technical expertise in construction data management, construction technology (such as 4D/5D/6D/Information Systems) and act as the focal point for integration of different digital streams.
6. Ensure the integrity, interoperability and integration of construction data and technology to facilitate digital rehearsals, construction digital twin delivery and digital handover.
7. Enable clients and project teams to shape and deliver the Digital Construction strategy for their organisations.
8. Lead the programme management of the delivery of digital construction solutions focusing on cost, time & quality.
9. Empower a “design for construction” project delivery mindset within AtkinsRéalis and foster collaborative project delivery with Tier 1 Contractors and clients.
10. Provide guidance on model, data and technology delivery, review, coordination, federation and integration to ensure that company and project standards are maintained on all deliverables including as designed, issued for construction and as-built.
11. Liaison with the project team, client and supply chains to review Project & Asset Information models and make any necessary amendments.
12. Ensuring compliance with BIM standards and (inter)national BIM standards (ISO19650).
13. Provide training and support to project teams on digital tools and methodologies.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering, Digital Engineering & BIM, Geospatial Sciences, Computer Science, or related field (Equivalent practical experience will be accepted).
2. Experience in construction project delivery and AGILE project management methodologies.
3. Expert in one (or more) of the following: BIM, 4D/5D/6D development, IM or GIS/Geospatial.
4. Strong understanding and experience of the above streams and their interfaces to deliver digital construction solutions on projects.
5. Strong understanding of lifecycle project delivery and how data and digital can empower interfaces across Design, Planning, Engineering, Construction, Project controls & Handover for project delivery.
6. Proficiency in Digital Construction software such as CDEs, lifecycle BIM (4D/5D/6D+), GIS & Geospatial or data management and functional understanding of how they integrate to support project delivery.
7. Knowledge and appreciation of how advanced technologies (AI, Robotics, XR) can enable Digital Construction.
8. Experience in building client relationships and working with clients to deliver key business objectives.
9. Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
10. Creative thinker with a passion for emerging technologies and solving complex problems.
11. Ability to work in a dynamic environment, adapting to the various paces of the industry and sector and changing priorities.
