Job Title: Labourer Supervisor Location: Slough Duration: 4-6 Months (with potential permanent opportunities) Hours: 8-10 hour shifts Pay Rate: £18 per hour (PAYE) Overtime: Time and a half & double time available Accommodation: Provided if required Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and proactive Labourer Supervisor to lead a team of workshop operatives on a 4-6 month project at an engineering/manufacturing workshop in Slough. The role involves coordinating labourers, overseeing workshop operations, and ensuring the efficient movement of materials and equipment. The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintaining workshop safety, supervising general labouring tasks, and supporting skilled trades where necessary. Key Responsibilities: Supervising and coordinating a team of labourers/operatives to ensure smooth workflow Organising the handling, movement, and storage of materials, tools, and equipment within the workshop Supporting skilled trades with assembly, preparation, and general workshop duties Overseeing workshop cleanliness, organisation, and adherence to safety standards Operating IPAF machinery where required (training can be provided) Ensuring safe handling and transportation of materials and components Enforcing health & safety regulations and ensuring all team members comply with site protocols Acting as the main point of contact between operatives and senior site management Working within set timeframes and project deadlines Requirements: Previous experience in a supervisory role within a workshop, labouring, or engineering environment Ability to lead, motivate, and coordinate a team effectively IPAF certification is desirable but not essential (training may be available) Comfortable working with tools, machinery, and workshop equipment Strong awareness of health & safety procedures in a workshop setting Good level of physical fitness and ability to handle materials safely Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines Willingness to work 8-10 hour shifts as required What's on Offer? £18 per hour (PAYE) Overtime available at time and a half & double time Accommodation provided if required Opportunity for a permanent role following project completion Gain leadership experience in an engineering/manufacturing workshop Work within a supportive team environment with career development opportunitiesIf you're ready for a challenging yet rewarding role, apply now or get in touch for more details
