Bank Support Worker

Location: Filton, South Gloucestershire, Bristol
Salary: £11.88 per hour + Benefits
Hours: from 0 to 25 hours per week, Monday to Sunday on a shift rota basis
Employment type: Part - Time, Flexible

We are on the lookout for Bank Support Workers who are calm, patient, and resilient. You will need to have a consistent approach to assisting the people we support to engage in the interests they love.
Furthermore, as Bank Support Worker you will be responsible for:
1. Daily activities such as personal care; laundry; meal preparation; medication and administration
2. Getting to know the people you will care for and help them to live the life they want to live
3. Taking personal responsibility for the quality of care and assistance delivered to the people you will care for
4. Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the people you will take care of
5. Helping the people you will assist plan towards and achieve both short and long term aims
6. Planning and be in favour of activities, such as vacations, learning and social engagements always being creative and exploring new opportunities
7. Assisting the people, you will assist to manage their personal affairs making, preparing for, and attending any appointments
8. Ensuring the people, you will assist and their families, are treated with respect, dignity, and equality
9. To work in accordance with SeeAbility’s values
We are looking for someone who can devote couple of hours per week and are willing to work on a shift rota basis, covering a combination of day and night shifts.
Who will you be supporting?
At South Gloucestershire we support 7 adults with a different range of disabilities such as autism, learning disabilities, visual impairment, scoliosis, dysphagia and aspiration, OCD, epilepsy, and Downs Syndrome. People at our home are a very active group who spend a lot of time getting out and about and engaging with the local community. We love going out to discos, pubs, watch TV and create robots. We do have a passion for art and music. Therefore, we often visit local theatre, cinema, puppet shows also music concerts and choirs. The people we support are very friendly, chatty and eager to learn or teach new things for example how to type and read braille. As a Support Worker your contribution will be invaluable. Responsibilities
10. Providing direct support when displaying behaviours to enable them to participate in a wide range of activities
11. Ensure good working practice including understanding and awareness of health and safety
12. To promote independence and develop skills whilst assisting with all tasks necessary to ensure positive life experiences
13. To work positively with other agencies, parents, carers, and other services to ensure person-centred care for people we support
14. Develop and contribute to the maintenance of records and support plans and function as a Key worker when required
15. To support our people to maintain a clean-living environment appropriate to meet their individual needs
16. To participate in regular and ongoing training relevant to everyone's needs
