Job summary Clinical Psychologist / Neuropsychologist B8B 0.4wte 9 months FTC (maternity cover) This is an exciting opportunity to join the multidisciplinary teams of the Stroke team and the Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus team at Nottingham University Hospitals, one of the leading establishments in Stroke and NPH nationally. We are looking for an experienced Clinical Psychologist/Neuropsychologist to provide specialist assessment and intervention for adults with Stroke or NPH who are under the care of NUH. Candidates will ideally have experience of psychological assessment and care in neurological pathways, working with patients with cognitive, language, and physical disabilities. As such specialist neuropsychology expertise is highly desirable but not essential. The position is well supported and would access clinical supervision and support from within the Department of Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology at NUH. The post holder will also contribute to departmental activities, including research and clinical governance as required. The post will be based at the Queen's Medical Centre site of Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. Candidates must be registered with the HCPC as a Clinical Psychologist. Main duties of the job On the basis of advanced theoretical and practical knowledge acquired through a degree, postgraduate doctoral degree (or equivalent) and postdoctoral ongoing additional further specialist training, to provide a high quality specialist Clinical Psychology and Clinical Neuropsychology service to the Stroke Service and the NPH Service at NUH. To participate in multi-disciplinary case assessment, discussion and formulation, highly specialist psychological and neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation, as well as analysis of complex referrals in which expert opinion may differ. To advise the NPH team including Consultant Neurosurgeons on pre- and post- surgery neuropsychology assessment outcomes related to NPH patients. o To provide a specialist and comprehensive neuropsychological assessment, consultation and rehabilitation service to adults requiring the appropriate use, interpretation / analysis and integration of highly complex psychological and non-psychological information from a variety of sources. o To be responsible for the direct care and rehabilitation of adults by the application of appropriate psychological skills o To be responsible for the delivery of pre- and post- surgery neuropsychological assessments and for the interpretation and communication of assessment findings to the surgical team.
