Job summary
The Apprenticeship and Widening Participation team aims to ensure that apprenticeships and employability initiatives are recognised, respected and used as an effective way to deliver a skilled, diverse workforce across a broad range of clinical and non-clinical roles. This varied and rewarding role plays a key part in achieving this ambition.
The Apprenticeship and Employability Officer leads the development, implementation, expansion, and ongoing management of apprenticeships and employability programmes across the Trust. They also support the Trust's strategic lead by providing advice, support and input into key employability strategies.
Day to day, this means leading work which widens access to employment for local people, from all backgrounds, and enhances employability through apprenticeship programmes.

Job description
Job responsibilities
1. Provide and receive complex or sensitive information, such as apprentice performance reports, diversity data, apprenticeship funding rules.
2. Develop excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including apprentices, learning providers, system partners, and managers, to facilitate delivery of the Apprenticeship and Widening Participation Strategy objectives.
3. To provide apprenticeship and widening participation advice, information, guidance and advocacy to colleagues at all levels as required.
4. Responsible for the quality assurance of the apprenticeship and employability provision in terms of success, retention and progression.
5. Planning, organisation and co-ordination of a range of apprenticeship and employability projects with a range of internal and external stakeholders. This includes (but is not limited to) National Apprenticeship Week, Annual Apprenticeship Celebration event, Functional Skills, vocational placements and employability programmes.
6. Create and maintain information sources (guides, intranet etc) regarding apprenticeships and employability initiatives.
7. Responsible for maintenance of the apprenticeship monitoring systems. E.g. Conveya, Digital Apprenticeship Service.

* Educated to degree level, or equivalent experience.
