In a nutshell
This is a fantastic opportunity for an Engineer – Programmes, collaborating with the Programmes and Reliability Manager, to join our Virgin Atlantic (VAA) Engineering department. This role is responsible for management and optimisation of VAA’s scheduled maintenance programmes. You will work alongside our subject matter experts in Fleet Technical Development and with Reliability engineers to maintain the fleet to the highest standards of performance.
Day to day
1. Ensure compliance of Aircraft Maintenance Programme (AMP) is maintained in accordance with CAA regulations
2. Management of the Aircraft Maintenance Schedule (AMS)
3. Review and implement the manufacturer Maintenance Planning Document (MPD)
4. Lead the optimisation of the Aircraft Maintenance Programme (AMP) via task escalation
5. Update company procedures and processes to ensure they remain current
6. Technical assessment and quality audit of incoming manufacturer documentation
7. Assist with aircraft entry into service and returns
8. Represent Virgin Atlantic Airways as a member of the Industry Steering Committee (ISC)
About you
1. You will have experience in working within a CAMO in aircraft maintenance programme management (or similar), ideally in an airline or maintenance repair organisation environment.
2. You’ll be qualified to HNC/HND level (or equivalent) with a detailed understanding of maintenance programmes and their development.
3. You will also have a good knowledge of Boeing/Airbus aircraft systems and relevant CAA regulations.
4. Ideally you’ll have working knowledge of MSG3 principles and have worked with aircraft manufacturer and vendor documentation such as; maintenance manuals and illustrated parts catalogues.
5. You will be highly motivated and you will be able to work unsupervised as part of a multi skilled team with the ability to seek advice when required.
6. Experienced in running projects and working to deadlines, you’ll be able to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.
7. You will have excellent analytical skills and a reputation for delivering high quality work in a dynamic environment.
