PYTHON DEVELOPER SHEFFIELD - 2 DAYS ONSITE INSIDE IR35 KEY SKILLS NEEDED: Python Pandas PySpark Anaconda JOB PROFILE: The Tech Subject Matter Expert (SME) job is responsible for providing subject expertise and guidance alongside the engineering function. The Tech SME has expert knowledge in one or more specific business domains products or applications. The Tech SME for the role is specifically focused on providing support to python model developers ensuring appropriate usage of libraries and techniques within the capacity available in the analytics environment. This will also include working with the infrastructure team in supporting and maintaining the (Anaconda) model development environment in Kubernetes. The Tech SME has specific skills and they are responsible to oversee implementation of techniques and solutions to ensure modellers make the best use of the environment. This includes experience in using data analysis and modelling libraries, especially on optimising the usage of memory and CPU. This role will carry out some or all of the following activities: • Responsible for providing technical expertise to resolve issues raised by modellers • Expert knowledge of data extraction and analytical tools required for subject matter • Responsible for taking lead in directing resolution to the appropriate teams • Responsible for helping the environment teams in meeting the requirements of the modelling community • Responsible for taking lead in helping to resolving incidents • Responsible for mentoring and providing necessary subject matter expertise • Proactively taking lead in facilitating environment fixes, including working with modellers to adapt better techniques or helping the financial engineers on improving the standards. • Responsible for knowledge transfer on subject matter expertise by writing guides on best practices • Act as “release liaison” to the modellers, ensuring they have forward visibility of change activity, downtime, upgrades, etc. To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements: • Proven programing skills around python models and data analysis, to aid the evaluation and performance/fine tuning as per industry best practices • Relevant and proven experience in supporting model development and analytics in a python open source environment • Proficient in in Python, including using Pyspark and Pandas • Familiar with using Jupypter and IDEs for analysis and model code development • Experience of docker and kuberenetes configuration in order to assist in environment support. • Familiarity with Anaconda is beneficial, especially on enterprise products, however, not essential • Ability to build foster a strong working relationship with teams in different locations • Exposure to UNIX operating system Job Title: Python Developer Location: Sheffield, UK Job Type: Contract Trading as TEKsystems.
