Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Croydon Area
Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM
About Us: We are working with an inclusive school located in the Merton area, committed to providing a supportive and nurturing environment for all our students. We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team.
Job Description: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting children with autism and physical disabilities. Your primary responsibilities will include:
* Assisting in the educational and social development of students.
* Providing one-on-one support to children with special educational needs.
* Collaborating with teachers and other staff members to create a positive learning environment.
* Implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapting teaching materials to meet the needs of each student.
* Supporting students in developing social skills and managing their behavior.
* Helping with personal care tasks as needed.
* Utilizing our school's hydropool to support the physical and sensory needs of disabled children.
Key Attributes:
* Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
* A genuine passion for supporting children with autism and physical disabilities.
* Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
* Excellent communication skills.
Experience:
* Previous experience working with children with autism and ADHD is essential. This can include personal experience.
* Experience in a school or nursery setting is preferred.
Qualifications:
* Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
* Nursery Nurse qualification is also preferred.
Additional Information:
* You will be part of a team supporting reduced classes, with 6-8 children per class.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
