Senior Quantity Surveyor (Rail / Civil Engineering)Location: Pontyclun, South Wales About Our Team:We are a dynamic and fast-paced business unit specialising in a diverse range of civil engineering projects, particularly within the rail sector. Our portfolio includes works on bridges, embankments, stations, platforms, and tunnels, along with projects for the Environment Agency and Local Authorities. We are actively engaged in multi-disciplinary civil projects throughout the Wales region, including both standalone tenders and long-term contracts with major clients, particularly focusing on CP7 infrastructure developments. The Role:We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of managing various Capital Delivery Projects for Network Rail and Transport for Wales. You will handle projects valued between £500K and £5M, navigating the complexities of civil engineering works and ensuring successful delivery within time and budget constraints. Key Responsibilities: Oversee and lead the commercial management of multiple project sites. Prepare and submit pricing estimates accurately and promptly. Address and resolve pricing disputes with clients effectively. Maintain robust client relations and communication. Collaborate with Site Managers to gather essential on-site information. Manage subcontractors and ensure compliance with contractual obligations. Handle change management processes and provide timely early warnings. Administer contracts using NEC and bespoke NR forms. Prepare Cost Value Reports (CVRs) and perform final accounting procedures. Requirements: Extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within a rail or civil engineering context. Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management. Proven experience with civil engineering projects, including rail, bridges, roads, and structures. Familiarity with NEC or bespoke NR forms of contract. Strong negotiation skills and a track record in contract administration. In Return, We Offer: Competitive salary, negotiable based on experience.
