Job Description: As a Junior Electrical CAD Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the design and development of electrical systems within the energy sector. Working closely with senior engineers, you will be tasked with creating detailed technical drawings, schematics, and layouts using AutoCAD software. This role is based onsite at their Newhaven office, where you will be able to collaborate directly with your team and contribute to the success of the projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Produce high-quality electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts using AutoCAD software.
Assist in the design and development of electrical systems, focusing on energy-related projects.
Collaborate with senior engineers to understand project requirements and deliver accurate technical documentation.
Ensure that all CAD drawings meet relevant standards, regulations, and project specifications.
Provide support during project phases, from initial concept through to completion.
Contribute to the improvement of CAD processes and workflows.
Assist with site surveys and take part in project meetings to better understand client needs.
Maintain accurate records of all design work and revisions.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
A relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, CAD, or a similar field (Degree, HND, or equivalent).
Proficiency in AutoCAD software is essential.
Basic understanding of electrical systems and design principles, ideally within the energy sector.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality technical drawings.
Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Eagerness to learn and grow in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Desirable Skills:
Knowledge of electrical standards, codes, and regulations.
Experience with other CAD software tools (e.g., Revit, SolidWorks) is a plus.
Any exposure to energy sector projects or related industries is advantageous but not essential.
