I am currently working with a well-established engineering organisation who are looking for a Senior Procurement Officer to join the team This position will sit in the purchasing department located at their Kirkby in Ashfield site offering a salary from £50,000-£55,000. Candidates will need to have previous experience within purchasing or procurement specifically within a construction or manufacturing environment at a buyer or senior buyer level. Role responsibilities of the Senior Procurement Officer include: Analysing category spend across all division and develop tenders and specifications Negotiating contracts, improving prices and terms of business with suppliers and reviewing opportunities to make business savings Assessing and evaluating suppliers and contribute to performance reviews to ensure contract compliance Monitoring market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers Providing analysis on costs, new and existing and review cost reduction activities Building, maintaining and managing supplier relationships and keep up good communications Preparing agreements and contracts. Role Specification of the Senior Procurement Office include: Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement role within a manufacturing/construction environment Knowledge of purchasing, negotiations, commercial understanding and cost breakdown Experience working closely with suppliers A valid UK driving licence Salary Up to £55k This role offers hybrid working, Monday-Thursday in office, Friday working from home This role will be well suited if you have held a role within purchasing or procurement as a Buyer, Senior Buyer, Sourcing Specialist, Category Manager, Procurement Lead, Purchasing Specialist, Lead Buyer or Procurement Team Leader.
