Job Description:
This is a home-based role with regular travel required across the UK and potentially Europe.
Working hours are Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm.
As a Business Development Director, you will be responsible for driving business growth through personal sales targets while leading and mentoring a small team of business development professionals. The team handles all Biopharma Product Testing work from UK Biopharma customers, selling the capabilities of the UK BPT labs and the European and global Eurofins BPT lab networks.
Main Duties
* Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve sales targets.
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the biopharma product testing market.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
* Lead, mentor, and manage a small team, providing guidance to achieve objectives.
* Prepare and deliver quotations, presentations, and proposals to prospective clients.
* Conduct market research on industry trends, competitors, and opportunities.
* Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, operations, and technical experts, as well as other Eurofins labs, to meet client needs and improve processes.
* Monitor and report on sales performance to senior management.
* Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote Eurofins Biopharma Product Testing.
* Support the design of service solutions.
* Manage UK ComLIMS (CLO, CLQ, CLPA) and contractual processes.
* Schedule team activities and deliver training.
* Develop commercial and market awareness initiatives for all employees.
* Propose and implement continuous improvement and Lean initiatives.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Business, Life Sciences, or related field.
* Proven experience in business development, sales, or related roles within biopharma or life sciences industries, with success in meeting sales targets.
* Knowledge of pharmaceutical raw materials, finished product testing, microbiology, or biocides testing.
* Good understanding of GMP.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
