What you’ll be doing:
* Building or enhancing SAP applications (Extensions/Forms/Workflows/Interfaces/Reports) and providing application design, guidance and consultation utilizing available technology, tools, and existing designs
* Designing and creating technical specifications to design or redesign complex and reusable components
* Providing estimation, prototyping, and analysing of efforts for project modelling and Analysing problems outlined by Product Managers, Architects, Technical Leads in terms of detailed technology requirements and capabilities
* Developing documentation to aid users and supporting staff in the operation and maintenance of Applications
* Providing Level 3 Support for existing application, providing code fixes and resolving production issues
* Proactively contribute and uphold ABAP development (Clean code) and documentation standards, in a way that helps the organisation maintain readable, maintainable and high quality ABAP based source code
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
* Extensive experience in designing, developing, testing, and deploying a variety of custom ABAP objects, including enhancements, reports, interfaces, SmartForms, BAPIs, BADIs, User-Exits, and web services, within an S/4 HANA environment
* Able to collaborate effectively with the SAP functional team and UI5 developers to fix incidents raised in a timely manner
* Strong experience with ABAP Data Dictionary (DDIC), including custom definitions and enhancements. Proven expertise in developing and testing custom SAP Gateway OData services for seamless data transfer between UI5 applications and the S/4 HANA backend
* Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and standards within an ABAP development environment
Desirable:
* Technical acumen around ABAP performance optimization, namespace development and software structuring
* Experience with SAP BRF+ is preferred, along with familiarity with Agile Delivery methodology
* Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment

The Product Fulfilment Group / IM&T team:
The ERP Competency Centre within IM&T supports circa 12500 SAP Users. We are on SAP S/4 Hana 2022. The department exists to ensure that incidents relating to SAP are dealt with in a timely manner and that Changes requested by the business (as part of a large project or a tactical change) relating to SAP are managed to conclusion. The department also administers User requests for access. We have Functional specialists (PP/PM/QM/MM/WM/HR/FICO/PS) and BASIS resource plus SAP Security Authorisation capabilities. This position is part of a small team of ABAP/UI5 Developers.
