Senior Learning Support Practitioner Required
Location: Dulverton, Somerset
Hourly Rate: £13.05 - £13.46
Annual Salary: £25,113.42 - £26,268.06 (FTE £27,144.00 - £28,392.00)
Hours: 40 hours per week – Term time plus additional days and training (42 weeks per year)
Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a Senior Learning Support Practitioner to support young people with learning disabilities in a specialist college and training hotel setting. The role involves working closely with House Team Leaders and Deputies to provide essential support to students, helping them develop the skills needed for independent living and employment in the hospitality industry.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, support, and guide a team of Student Support Practitioners (LSPs) on shift, ensuring smooth operation of services while on duty.
* Assist House Team Leaders/Deputies in overseeing health and safety practices and ensuring a safe, supportive environment for students.
* Support students in their learning and development, helping them reach their full potential and achieve their goals.
* Take charge of shift responsibilities, responding to emergencies and addressing any issues that arise.
* Contribute to staff induction and training as needed.
Essential Qualities:
* Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, though full training can be provided for the right candidate.
* Experience in the care or education sectors, with an understanding of working with people with disabilities.
* A Level 2 qualification in English and Maths is required.
* A Level 3 qualification in education, care, or a related field is desirable.
