Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Leader Education are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist education school in North Tyneside.
Pupils in this school have a range of complex learning difficulties, including visual impairment, cerebral palsy, and Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC). As such, prior experience in support work or with learning disabilities is essential.
This school encourages career development and progression, offering a wide variety of training and development opportunities.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will:
* Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
* Have experience of working in a transferable role.
* Work as part of a team directed by the class teacher or therapist, to support children's care and learning.
* Have a knowledge of EHCPs.
* Have experience of behaviour management, knowledge of deafness/BSL or children and adults with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties.
* Work effectively with parents, carers and other members of multidisciplinary teams to provide the best support.
* Be confident in working alongside students, ensuring they are fully supported within their learning and general classroom activities.
* Possess communication skills that can be personalised to suit students of different abilities.
