About the role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our school team in Hounslow. If you are passionate about supporting students, adaptable, and have the ability to step in and teach unassisted, we want to hear from you!
Application Requirements:
• Experience: Proven experience working as an HLTA or in a similar role, with the ability to teach classes independently.
• Strong Communication Skills: Confident in providing support to students and working collaboratively with teachers and other staff members.
• Adaptability: Able to manage a range of tasks, including supporting pupils with additional needs, setting up resources, and stepping in to lead lessons.
• Knowledge of SEN: Experience working with students with physical, behavioural, or learning difficulties, and a strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices.
• Proactive and Responsible: Ability to manage the classroom environment and support the educational needs of students in the absence of a class teacher.
Key Responsibilities:
• Classroom Preparation: Set up classrooms for lessons, including preparing technology (e.g., televisions for video presentations), sourcing relevant books, materials, and handouts.
• Teaching Support: Teach classes unassisted, particularly in the absence of teachers due to illness or leave.
• Student Support: Provide one-to-one or small group support to students, especially those with physical, behavioural, or learning difficulties, working under the supervision of classroom teachers.
• Supervision: Ensure a positive and safe learning environment, supporting teachers with the overall management and supervision of the classroom.
