Geotechnical Engineer

We are looking for people who want to add their geotechnical design and professional expertise to join our growing Ground Engineering department based in London to close the gap to a sustainable future.
Your new role
You will be part of the UK Ground Engineering team. The team has a wide range of exciting and challenging UK and international projects that will support your development. You will enjoy a truly varied experience focusing on the design of complex urban structures, and with opportunities to work on:
1. Rail projects
2. Major infrastructure and highways schemes
3. Major crossings
4. Renewables
5. Complex soil/structure numerical modelling
Your key responsibilities will be:
1. You will take responsibility for the delivery of geotechnical services to a range of multi-disciplinary teams within the Buildings, Transport, Environment, and Energy divisions across the organisation.
2. Engage with clients and project managers externally in the project environment, and facilitate project deliverables within internal and external design teams.
3. Look to innovate and develop design systems alongside teams of all disciplines nationally and internationally across the Ramboll Group.
4. Help to deliver Ramboll’s net zero carbon design principles in collaboration with our clients to produce sustainable schemes that enhance communities.
5. Undertake and deliver complex geotechnical aspects of multi-disciplinary projects design using industry standard software at a leading level. Possessing a working knowledge and developing experience of geotechnical software is essential.
6. Promote the Ramboll brand and undertake business development.
7. Apply and promote policies relating to health and safety, quality, and the development of others.

These include:
1. Proven experience in geotechnical design, analysis, reporting, and numerical modelling on projects in Buildings, Transport, Environment, and Energy sectors.
2. BEng/MEng (Hons) Degree in Civil Engineering.
3. A confident and professional manner, coupled with excellent communication skills.
4. Ability to work well under pressure and proven ability to deliver to deadlines.
5. Capable of working independently and leading design activities.
6. Ambition and evidence of your route towards professional qualification, Chartered Civil Engineer MICE CEng or Engineering Geologist CGeol, and having made significant progress to becoming chartered.
