As a kitchen porter, you will be working in the hospital's busy kitchen taking on portering duties of a routine nature – putting away food provisions, general cleaning, and delivery of all food provisions to the designated areas.
You must have the ability to work as part of a team or on your own initiative, follow instructions, and possess good communication skills. You will comply with all food hygiene regulations in regards to food handling, storage, and departmental cleaning.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Ensuring all kitchen refuse is disposed of on a regular basis to the compactor area.
2. Operating mechanical vehicles, scrubbers, and steam cleaning machines.
3. Deputising for the storekeeper in his/her absence.
You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
