Configuration & Development in IT Product Management provides systems configuration, business systems analysis, development and support for several business systems that enable and support the day-to-day delivery of services critical to the wellbeing of West Sussex residents. It also uses a range of tools to create and automate customer interactions and journeys, enabling them to support transformation and change projects by reconfiguring critical systems and building customer engagement systems.
The Opportunity
Salary: £42,708 to £45,718 per annum
Working Pattern: Full time, 37 hours per week
Location: County Hall, Chichester and hybrid working from home

As a key part of Configuration & Development, as a Principal Applications Specialist, you will act as a lead professional for the use of some digital tools and specific systems configuration. Working through agile methodologies and within effective oversight and control of the technical solutions, you will undertake the analysis, design, development and automation of various digital interactions, including automating the transfer of
data and data migration into critical back-office systems.
Specifically, you will:
* Be responsible for our Systems Support team and their day to day workload
* Work closely with customers and project teams to help develop and support solutions that deliver business improvements and facilitate business change.
* Support systems post development / configuration.
* Provide advice, guidance and assistance to less experienced colleagues as required
What are we looking for?
* Significant level of IT knowledge relating to some or all of cloud hosted application design, data migration, use of workflow and e-forms, and application configuration.
* A good level of knowledge of at least one programming language (e.g. Python, Ruby, or JavaScript).
* Experienced in the configuration of a Social Care or Education based system (such as Mosaic or Synergy).
* An ability to provide information and guidance about your areas of expertise to both colleagues and clients.
* An understanding of various project management methods, including agile methodologies.
* The ability to adapt and engage with competing priorities to meet deadlines.
* Confidence in dealing will people including, the public, service users, staff, and the ability to establish credibility at all levels.
