What You'll Do The role of the Health & Safety Lead is to enable Network Development to improve performance and reduce risk. The role will form part of the Network Development Health, Safety, Environment and Quality department. Network Development consists of 5x business units which develops and delivers Vodafone mobile and fixed line network. This role will have a primary function within Infrastructure Management and Deployment. Infrastructure Management and Deployment consists of multiple delivery units and this role will be a support function to those areas. The Health & Safety Lead role can be broken into 2x high-level areas, strategic improvements, and operational assistance. Strategically, the Health & Safety Lead will support the Health & Safety Authority for Network Development at identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing change to improve performance and reduce risk. Operationally, the role shall support IMD Managers and their operational teams in providing reasoned and subject matter advice, providing solutions of how to deliver safe operational activities. The role requires proactive engagement with internal teams and Vodafone partners. Engagement and collaboration are a core aspect of the Vodafone spirit values of togetherwecan. Responsibilities: Implement strategic and operational improvement programs at departmental level Provide subject matter advice to Senior Managers in the delivery of H&S aspects / safe operational activities. Hold internal functions accountable to Vodafone legal duties and policies. Enable H&S engagement sessions with Vodafone partners awarded contracts in the UK. Hold Vodafone partners accountable to legal duties and contractual obligations Review and formal approval of project / contract level CPP’s Create, update and develop IMS documentation where Vodafone are appointed PD / PC Conduct incident investigations Lead the closure of ‘Major’ non-conformances from monitoring activities. Analyse and provide reports to the Network Development H&S Authority Who You Are A strong sense of integrity to address issues that might be unpopular but are necessary for the safety of people and Vodafone Purpose driven and able to demonstrate positive cultural items in support of Vodafone Spirit Operationally conscious and able to support safe delivery of operational activities Analytical and fact based in assessing information. Experienced at looking at the ‘larger’ risk profile picture Experience of dealing with challenging situations and communicating with resistant members of a team Comfortable in operating in fast paced and challenging environments Experienced in change management / implementing change within a business Strong ability to write process, policy, procedural documents, and reports Willing to get involved at improving performance reduce risk, led by example character. Qualifications: Industry experience in telecommunications, utilities, street works Member of industry body at a level of GradIOSH (or final stages of working towards) Completed H&S Diploma (or in progress of working towards) Worried that you don’t meet all the desired criteria exactly?
