About the role
As the Head of English at our Junior School, you will play a pivotal role in leading and promoting innovative and engaging teaching of English. Collaborating closely with the Head of Junior School, you will work as part of the Junior School Academic Team to maintain high standards and create enriching opportunities that inspire a love for literacy among our pupils. You will lead the teaching of English by setting a strong example, ensuring a robust and up-to-date curriculum, and supporting your colleagues through professional development. Additionally, you will oversee the Junior School Librarian and be responsible for tracking and monitoring student progress, implementing strategies to support all learners in their journey.
This is a part-time 0.6 FTE, permanent role needed over 3 days a week. There is a September 2025 start date.

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled, qualified Teacher with a genuine passion for English and exceptional written communication skills. As the ideal candidate, you will have experience in Key Stage 2, with proven expertise in English and a desire to take on a leadership role. You should thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and be community-minded. A strong commitment to ongoing professional development and safeguarding the wellbeing of students and colleagues is essential.
